A participant in the Writing Studio (1976 W.O. Mitchell), Diane Schoemperlen is the author of Double Exposures, Frogs and Other Stories, Hockey Night in Canada, In the Language of Love, and Forms of Devotion. "Stranger Than Fiction" was originally published in her collection The Man of My Dreams (Macmillan 1990), which was shortlisted for both the Governor-General's Award and the Trillium Award. Schoemperlen lives in Kingston, Ontario, with her son, Alexander.
