Marrie Mumford, Contributor

Marrie Mumford is the Director of the Aboriginal Arts Program at The Banff Centre. She has more than twenty-five years of experience in professional theatre in Canada and the U.S., as an actress, director, producer, and instructor. She taught at professional acting studios and at the University of Toronto. She has an M.F.A. from Brandeis University in Boston, and a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Alberta in Edmonton. During her tenure as Artistic Director of the Aboriginal Arts Program, Marrie has initiated and facilitated innovative professional development programs in dance, visual arts, new media, writing and publishing, and music. This includes initiating the Chinook Winds Aboriginal Dance Program, Aboriginal Women's Voices, and the Aboriginal Curators series at the Walter Phillips Gallery.
