Nicole Markotic is a poet and fiction writer. She teaches English literature and creative writing at the University of Calgary, is poetry editor for Red Deer Press, and is on the Tessera feminist collective. She has published three books - Connect the Dots (Wolsak & Wynn 1994), a collection of prose poems; Yellow Pages (Red Deer 1995), a novel; and Minotaurs & Other Alphabets (Wolsak & Wynn 1998), her most recent poems. She is currently completing a novel and a book about the representations of the problem body in film and literature.
