After poet Billie Livingston attended the Writing Studio (1994 Rachel Wyatt), she received grants through the Canada Council Explorations Program and the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund to work on her novel, Going Down Swinging. A chapter from this novel won the sub-TERRAIN Short Fiction Contest (1996). Livingston's work is included or upcoming in Imago, One Step Beyond, Atom Mind, TickleAce, and The Capilano Review.
