Lyne Lapointe and Martha Fleming have produced a number of large-scale site-specific projects over the last twelve years, largely involving abandoned buildings and occupying their entire architectural envelope. A vaudeville theatre in Montréal, a ferry terminal in Manhattan, a library in Madrid are some of these sites. Others have taken place in London, Bath, São Paulo and Corumbã, Brazil. These ephrmeral site projects are a hybrid of social theory, architectural archeology, scholarly research, popular history and metaphysical investigation. They have also exhibited in a number of museums and galleries in Canada and the Unites States and have produced graphic works for magazine and book publications. Contributor to: |
