Joanne Leah Gerber attended Writing Studios in 1994 and 1996. Her first book was In The Midleading Absence of Light (Coteau 1997). It received the 1998 Canadian Author's Association Jubilee Award for Short Story Collection; 1997 Saskatchewan Book Awards for Fiction, First Book, and City of Regina (shared); and Third Prize in the 1998 The Writers Union of Canada Danuta Gleed Awards. It was also shortlisted for the 1998 City of Toronto Book Award. Gerber is currently working on a novel and a chamber opera with composer David L. McIntyre. Contributor to: |
