Karen Connelly is the author of seven books of poetry and non-fiction. She is the winner of the League of Canadian Poets Pat Lowther Memorial Award and the Governor General's Literary Award for non-fiction, which she received for Touch the Dragon, A Thai Journal (Turnstone 1992). She is currently working on a novel and a collection of essays about Burma. Her most recent book of poetry is entitled The Border Surrounds Us (2000), published by McClelland & Stewart.
