About Revitalization
In addition to the building of the Kinnear Centre for Creativity & Innovation, The Banff Centre’s Revitalization project also included:
- Scholarships and Programs: $28 million raised to fund Centre scholarship endowments and programs
- Dining Centre: opened in 2008, the Dining Centre includes participant and staff dining areas, new kitchen facilities, a wine bar, and an à la carte restaurant.
- Campus Greening/Outdoor Performance Spaces: improvements to the Centre’s pathway system, the restoration of natural landscapes, and the closure of the St. Julien Road through-road. The Shaw Amphitheatre, suitable for performances and learning activities, will open in summer 2011.
- Leighton Artists' Colony Expansion: the capacity of the Leighton Artists' Colony to inspire new creative work was increased by the addition of the Painter House
