Brian Kim  Stefans

Brian Kim Stefans is the author of six books of poems including What is Said the Poet Concerning Flowers (2006) and Kluge: A Meditation (2007), along with the essay collections Before Starting Over: Essays and Interviews (2008) and Fashionable Noise: On Digital Poetics (2003). He teaches new media and literature in the English Department of UCLA. Digital works such as "The Dreamlife of Letters," "Kluge: A Meditation" and "Suicide in an Airplane (1919)" can be found at arras.net. Recent projects include a regular column, "Third Hand Plays," for the SFMoma blog Open Space on digital text art, for which he curated a series of new works, a ten-part column for the Los Angeles Review of Books on the history of Los Angeles Poetry, and a "freeware" compilation of Los Angeles D.I.Y/Post-punk music from 1977 to 1985. He was the co-editor of the Electronic Literature Collection, Vol. 2. A new book of poems, Viva Miscegenation, is being published in October, 2011 by MakeNow Books.
