An annual event featuring mountain stories, legends, and adventures: The Banff Mountain Festivals deliver those stories in ways that will amaze, inspire, and move you. The Banff Mountain Film Festival, presented by National Geographic and The North Face, offers big screen adventure that’s larger than life. The Banff Mountain Book Festival, presented by National Geographic, brings mountain stories alive.

Banff International String Quartet Competition

Banff International String Quartet Competition

August 30 – September 5, 2010
Over one week, this renowned triennial event presents the worlds best young string quartets to play for a distinguished jury, for the public, and for each other in the Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC), one of the world’s leading international music competitions.

Exhibitions

The Walter Phillips Gallery is home to thought-provoking contemporary art exhibits. Exhibitions curated by the Visual Arts Department can also be found in the west lobby of the Eric Harvie Theatre and in the Other Gallery in Glyde Hall.

Winners of the Banff Mountain Photography Competition are on display in the Sally Borden Building. Other Mountain Culture and the Environment exhibitions are also located in the Max Bell building.
