Place-based Leadership Forum
May 9 – 12, 2010
Leadership Development at The Banff Centre, along with the Fetzer Institute’s Powers of Place Initiative, would like to invite you to participate in the Place-Based Leadership Forum, which will explore the role of place in transformative leadership theory and practice.
Place-Based Leadership will be an opportunity to come together to explore how our surroundings — place, space, and environment — can inform leaders to inspire and revitalize our organizations and communities. Although much has been discovered and shared about transformational leadership practice, the effects of our physical environment have been largely overlooked.
”Sacred places are not empty vessels, and people coming to them continue to build on what’s already present and layered in the landscape, culture or activities of the place.”
— Adrian J. Ivakhiv, Claiming Sacred Ground
