Developing Personal Strengths: Strength Deployment Inventory
In this session, we use the Strength Deployment Inventory® (SDI) which measures an individual's value system both when things are going well, and when the person is in conflict. Whereas many other tools measure behaviour, the SDI explores the motivations and values that underlie those behaviours — why we behave the way we do. The SDI® was developed by Dr. Elias H. Porter.
The applications of the SDI are numerous, including building awareness of self and others, leadership development, team building, conflict management, and dispute resolution or mediation.
This is an excellent tool to help you understand your own motivations, as well as those of your team members — when things are going well, as well as when you are in a period of difficulty.
After this session you will be able to:

Innovative Tools for Thinking Teams: FourSight™ Thinking Profile
FourSight™ is an innovative assessment tool that reveals how people solve problems and approach challenges – and how they can do it better. *The time suggested is a guideline only, but this option would take a minimum of 3 hours. Larger groups may require more time to ensure full participation. Availability of this option is based on availability of facilitator. If you are looking for a full day of creative team building, ask about combining and linking a number of these options together to suit your needs.
Post-Program Team Systems Coaching and Development
Learning is an ongoing process and The Banff Centre is committed to ensuring that the investment made in a leadership or team-building session is not allowed to depreciate. We provide team coaching to help develop and implement ongoing learning and action strategies for conference participants to reach team goals of enhanced performance after their time at The Banff Centre is complete. Creative ideas and encouragement for new behaviours that support team goals can help organizations recognize where they are, where they want to be, and then consistently move them toward common goals.
The program consists of phone sessions of one hour with the entire team at 30, 60, and 90 days following The Banff Centre program. This process provides a disciplined structure and process to support the translation of the initial learning into action and change over time. The team coaching will be facilitated by two trained professional coaches.
After this session you will be able to:
- Apply learning gained from Banff Centre sessions to after-program action
- Integrate on-site and off-site learning into a learning continuum
- Make practical ongoing use of the learning to shift how you operate as a team
- Gain exposure to guidance and support to apply theoretical models to practical workplace context
Three-session process
Number of Participants: 6-8 per team (or all members of an intact or project work team)
*Coaching is scheduled at the mutual convenience of the coach and client. Anything shared in your coaching conversations is confidential and will not be shared with a third party.
