Artist: Leila Sujir (Montreal)
Project Title: Tulipomania: an electronic trade fable
Dates: May 1 - 31, 2006
Narratives in space and time form a fascinating cross-over point between new media arts and information visualization. Specifically, this concept develops the spatialization of narrative using video, audio, and 3D objects for Leila Sujir’s cluster of research within the project Tulipomania: an electronic trade fable, which explores real-time video in immersive environments.
At the Banff Centre, Leila will explore, develop, and produce aspects of the immersive environment within the cave into a gallery-based installation and virtual space for circulation through a headmounted display, with the two aspects of the projects Grandmothers RMX and Tulipomania.1, Day-Old Venice.
